Another important step in setting up your firm on Canopy is to customize your firm's branding. Your personalized domain, logo and colors will be displayed on the Client Portal and will help your clients know they are accessing your customized site!
Watch this video to get started and then scroll to see each step broken down.
Start by going to your settings.
- Navigate to your Profile Icon.
- Click on Settings.
- Navigate to Custom Branding.
Add a custom domain and customized links
In the settings you have several options on how you can customize your firm's branding.
- Domain: customizing you domain name allows your client portal link to reflect your firms name. it will read [your domain].clientportal.com.
To change your domain name click Change Domain and type in the domain you want. If your domain is available a green checkmark will display in the field.
Please Note: If you change your domain, you clients will be redirected from your previous domain to the new one for 30 days. You will not be permitted to edit your domain during these 30 days. - Company Website: Add your website here to act as a quick link on the Client Portal.
- Appointment Scheduler: If you use an appointment scheduler here you can add a link to make it easy for your clients to schedule directly from the client portal.
- Custom Link: Include any additional links you feel would be helpful for your clients. The link will be displayed on the client portal as the link label.
- Show Billing tab in Client Portal: Toggle on to include a billing tab in the client portal.
- Show Display Names on Client Portal: Toggle on to use the display names created in the client record on the Client Portal.
Here is a look at the Client portal and how each of these elements are displayed to the client.
Create a Custom Logo
Your logo is an easy way to customize the Canopy experience. Your logo image will appear on the login page of the Client Portal and in the portal itself. Additionally, you have the option to include your logo in emails and invoices sent from Canopy.
To Add a custom logo:
- Scroll down to Logo Image.
- Click Upload New.
- Only the following files types are supported: .jpg, .jpeg, and .png
- The maximum file size for a logo image is 500 KB.
Logo Dimensions
In all areas of the app:
- If the image is smaller than 156px wide x 56px high, it will be stretched to fix those minimum dimensions.
- If the image is larger the 320px wide x64px high, it will be scaled down to those maximum dimensions.
On the Client Portal Navigation Bar:
- Images larger than 260px wide x 64px high will be scaled down.
If you want to remove your logo you can click Remove under the logo image.
Use the checkbox to select to Use logo on Invoices. All invoices sent from Canopy will include your logo.
Select a Custom Branding Color
Just like your logo, your brand colors showcase who you are and will be displayed on the Client Portal.
To select your branding color scroll down to the color boxes.
You can select from one of the preset color options by clicking on the color.
For greater customization, you can click Custom to enter any hex-code color.
- Copy and paste, or type in, any hex-code into the color code field
- Alternatively slide the color selector along the gradient scale.
- Avoid choosing white as the color.
Customize the Client Login Page
Below your color customization you can also customize the Client Portal login page.
- Choose an image: You can choose one of the stock images or you can upload your own image by clicking Upload Image off to the right.
- Add A Welcome Message: Use the text box to add a message on your login page. Keep your message short as messages with more than 120 characters may be cut off on the mobile application.
- Choose a Template: Chose one of the templates to further customize your client portal experience.
You will be able to preview your logo, color and login page to make sure everything looks perfect. Don't forget to save any changes!
