Manage Canopy Product Licenses
Canopy is designed to meet your firms needs by being customizable. We offer a variety of different product licenses (you can check them all out here) and it is is easy for you to manage your licenses and add new ones when you are ready! Lets get started.
Please Note: Only admin users with account management permissions are able to purchase, assign, and un-assign licenses from a user.
View and manage all your Canopy product licenses in your settings under Account Management.
- Go to your profile icon.
- Select Settings.
- Click on Account Management.
Subscriptions
The first tab you will land on is your Subscriptions tab. You will be able to view your annual subscription and payment details at the top of the page.
Each license you have purchased will appear below. Canopy has an assortment of different licenses to help you get the job done. Yours will show here, but you can add more at any time. Just reach out to a customer service agent.
Each license is organized the same.
- Name of License and number of licenses assigned.
- Current yearly amount
- Bar to show how many active licenses are in use out of your total amount available.
- Link to purchase more licenses - this allows you to have more team members with license access.
- Button to manage and assign licenses to team members.
Purchase Additional Licenses
As your team grows you may need to add additional licenses. It is easy to add additional licenses and you can purchase them directly within Canopy!
From the Account Management settings tab find the license you need to add to.
- Click on Purchase Licenses.
- Input the number of additional licenses you would like to purchase.

- The window updates to show the annual cost for the additional licenses and the new annual cost for all licenses, including those you are currently purchasing.
- License rates are prorated depending on when your contract with Canopy started. You can determine this date by viewing your Next renewal date.
- If your account has a current Balance due, you must pay that balance before purchasing additional licenses.
- Click Continue.
- Verify your payment and purchase information and click Confirm and pay.
- If you are looking to purchase a license for a module you don't currently have you will need to contact the support team to purchase any add-ons.
Assign and Remove Team Member Licenses
Admin users can assign and remove team members from each product license.
Assign
To assign a team member go to the license on the Account Management page in settings.
- Click on Manage and assign licenses.
- Search for your team member in the search box.
- Check the box next to their name to assign the license.
- The blue bar will update to reflect the new number of assigned licenses.
Remove
To remove a team member you will follow the same steps as above but this time you will uncheck the team member.
- Click on Manage and assign licenses.
- Search for your team member in the search box.
- Uncheck the box next to their name to remove the license.
- The blue bar will update to reflect the new number of assigned licenses.
Update Default Payment Method
In order to purchase licenses, or KBA credits, a default payment method must be assigned to your Canopy account. You can update or add payment methods from the Account Management tab in settings.
Add Credit Card
Click on the Payments Method tab.
If you have a card associated you can view the card details by clicking on the arrow.
To add a card click Add credit card.
Enter your credit card information. If you would like to make this card your default payment check the box next to Save as default payment method.
You can also choose the default payment method after adding cards by selecting the start icon in line with the relevant card information.
View Canopy Invoices
You can also view your invoices for Canopy in the Invoices tab.
You can see the following details for each invoice: Invoice Date , Inovice #: Click on the number to view a pdf of the invoice, Due Date, Total, Balance.
